2021 Commitment to Eliminate Racism

This year, in 2021, we will observe the 100th anniversary–the Centennial–of the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre previously known as the 1921 Tulsa Race Riot, one of the worst racial violence attacks in U.S. history. The massacre devastated the nationally prominent Black business Greenwood District enclave in Tulsa also known as “Black Wall Street.” The devastating attack killed hundreds of black Tulsans and left thousands of businesses and properties destroyed.

The eyes of the world will be upon Tulsa during the Centennial. It’s an opportunity for our city to show communities nationwide how to respectfully pay homage–how we can tangibility reconcile the past with solution-based goals toward changing the future.

We are called to make a commitment–a commitment to eliminate racism and work towards reconciliation grounded in the reality of facing the racial inequities we face in our city and our nation.

How will you commit to eliminate racism in 2021 and beyond?

This is our calling.  This is our Pledge. This is our time.  Tulsa is the place.

Commitment form instructions: When you submit your commitment form on our website, we strongly encourage all businesses and community members to make tangible commitment(s).

Sample pledges have been prepared in the sidebar so that you can copy and paste in the Tulsa Triumphs commitment box below. These sample pledges are powerful ways to committing to eliminating racism with us
