American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification


Spring 2018 Courses are now open for registration!

Through videos, group discussion and hands-on practice, you'll learn teamwork, rescue and surveillance skills, First Aid and CPR/AED and other skills. Successful completion results in a 2-year certification in Lifeguarding that includes first aid, professional-level CPR and AED. .

To enroll in the Lifeguarding course, participant must be at least 15 years old before the last scheduled class session. All courses will be held at YWCA Midtown at 1910 South Lewis Avenue.

There is a $50 non-refundable fee for participants who do not successfully complete the prerequisite skills. There are no refunds once the course has been taught this includes:participants who do not successfully complete the course, do not attend all scheduled class dates and times, do not pass course land and water skills with proficiency (according to American Red Cross requirements) or do not pass the written exam.
