Refugee Services Manager

YWCA is hiring a full-time Manager for the Refugee Services program in our Immigrant & Refugee Services department. The Refugee Services Manager supervises a team of three caseworkers and manages a federal grant for refugee social services, with an emphasis on job development. Our program assists several hundred refugees resettle in Tulsa through case management, referrals, job placement and English classes. 
The Manager is responsible for implementing all aspects of the Refugee Social Services grant, which funds YWCA to help refugees become economically self-sufficient a quickly as possible. Grant management includes data tracking, preparing reports, liaising with the Oklahoma Department of Human Services and other organizations, managing the budget, and ensuring YWCA fulfills the contract. The Manager is the face of YWCA to area employers and helps make a compelling case for hiring newly arrived refugees. They also cultivate the many organizational partners who are vital to effectively serving refugees. 
The ideal candidate has a mix of social work skills, job development experience, and a strong business sense. They are quick on their feet, able to troubleshoot a variety of issues, and can still manage all the details so nothing falls through the cracks. A background in case management of diverse, high-needs clients a big plus. Preference will be given to individuals with experience working with refugees. Bachelor's degree required; master's a plus.

Administrative Coordinator - Immigrant & Refugee Services

YWCA's Immigrant & Refugee Services department is hiring a full-time bilingual (Spanish) Administrative Coordinator to manage our front desk and behind-the-scenes operations. This is a critical role for our department, as the front desk is "mission control" for our busy, fast-paced, multicultural office that sees dozens of calls, walk-ins, and appointments each day. The Administrative Coordinator is the frontline of customer service for our current and prospective clients, ensuring they have a positive experience when accessing our services. 

The Coordinator is responsible for maintaining client relations and performing a variety of administrative tasks, including scheduling, answering phones, processing payments, and managing office supplies and inventory. The Coordinator supports staff members in four program areas: Refugee Services, Immigration Legal Services, Language Services and Project Citizenship. The Coordinator also translates official documents for clients and provides interpreting support when needed.

The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, level-headed, customer-oriented problem solver who can juggle multiple tasks at the same time. Demonstrated intercultural skills are a big plus. Preference will be given to candidates with direct experience working in a busy office environment requiring multi-tasking and prioritizing. Associate's degree required; bachelor's a plus. English and Spanish fluency a must.

Administrative Assistant - Immigration Legal Services Program 

Position DescriptionProvides support to Immigration Legal Services Program operations. Responsible for screening callers and walk-in appointments. Handles multiple line phone and general administrative duties. Supports Program Manager and Immigration Program staff. Data entry of time-sensitive information. Schedules/confirms immigration staff appointments. Assist Immigration Program staff with communicating case updates to clients as needed. Assist agency staff with immigration document translation and providing direct translation or interpreting as needed.

Fitness and Aquatics Manager - East Health & Wellness Center

Position Description: Under the guidance of the Director of Health & Wellness, the Fitness & Aquatics Manager is responsible for the organization, delivery, and quality of YWCA Tulsa fitness & aquatics program(s) to the membership, program participants, and community, and for all aspects of pool and facility operations, including supervision of staff and contractors at the YWCA East location.

Maintenance Coordinator

Position Description: Responsible for planning, organizing, leading, and cost-effective management of the maintenance and facilities functions at three YWCA facilities. Responsible for establishing and maintaining an effective preventative and predictive maintenance program which encompasses all facilities, in particular the pool/spa/fitness areas at the East and PJW Midtown locations.

  • Be an advocate for the mission, values and goals of the YWCA Tulsa.
  • Highly organized, attention to detail, effective time management skills, strong follow through.  Ability        to lead projects, multi-task and work with minimal supervision, and consistently meet deadlines. Shows initiative in all aspects of the job.
  • Required to transport themselves to and from locations, meetings, pick-up supplies, equipment, etc.   Mileage will be reimbursed according to YWCA Tulsa policy.
  • High level of professionalism while remaining flexible, proactive, and resourceful in meeting the daily responsibilities of the position.

  •  Associate’s degree or higher education desired. Relevant experience may substitute for the degree requirement on a year-for-year basis. In addition to the desired education, individual will need to demonstrate managerial experience and related abilities to include purchasing, supplies, grounds keeping and equipment repair.
  • Must be able to successfully handle multiple tasks, often with conflicting priorities.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA codes and industry regulations for health, safety and environmental controls is also desirable.
  • Willingness and readiness to accept new responsibilities and other duties as conditions warrant.
  • Proficient IT skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, and use of various databases. Intermediate knowledge of relevant software such as MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
  • Pool Operators Permit preferred; training/certification must be completed during training cycle.

Interpreters (contract)

YWCA Tulsa is seeking experienced interpreters of Spanish, Burmese, Zomi, Arabic, French, Vietnamese, Korean, Portuguese, and other languages to expand our contractor pool for client requests. Contract interpreters receive assignments based on availability and volume of client requests; numbers of jobs will vary from week to week. 

Interpreters process information quickly and concisely, recognize sensitive cultural differences and are professional and courteous at all times. Interpreters uses appropriate terminology and understand common industry procedures and practices. Interpreting assignments may be technical or non-technical in the following fields: healthcare, government services and education. Contract interpreters are responsible for traveling to client sites by appointment.

ELL Civics Instructor (PT)

Position Description: Responsible for teaching curriculum plans to assist immigrants and refugees in achieving linguistic and citizenship competency to pass naturalization exam.

Come be a part of the YWCA Tulsa team as a part-time swim instructor. Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certification required; bilingual in Spanish preferred. We will certify qualified candidates.

Drop-In Child Care Attendant

Opening for part-time child care attendants for children whose parents are participants in our educational programs. Children range in age from 6 weeks through 8 years. You will provide developmentally-appropriate care, comfort, nurturing and guidance to infants/toddlers in order to enhance their emotional and physical growth as outlined by NAEYC and State Licensing guidelines.

Duties include: Ensure the cleanliness, orderliness, and safety of facility according with health and hygiene standards, including but not limited to the toileting area, toys, cots, sheets, and diaper changing area.

Gym membership included. Schedules may vary including some evening and weekends.

Spanish bilingual required.

Communications Internship

YWCA seeks an energetic and skilled individual with a wide range of administrative and technical skills to assist with content creation, marketing-related projects, website maintenance and social media. This position is estimated at 12 to 20 hours per week and is an unpaid, intern position which typically runs for 3-4 months. We have seasonal opportunities and are willing to consider applicants year-around.
