YWCA Tulsa offers many classes to Legal Permanent Residents (Green Card Holders) so that individuals can become U.S. Citizens.

Students will be assessed before and after the program.

ELL/Civics Class
For students with beginner to intermediate levels of English proficiency. The 40-hour, 10-week class introduces students to basic vocabulary and concepts of US civics, politics, history and culture found on the US naturalization exam. The class is also designed to help students gain confidence in reading, writing and oral comprehension skills necessary for both test-based interview and dictation practice.


Citizenship Class
For students at intermediate and above levels of English proficiency. The 40-hour, 10-week Citizenship class expands on the necessary US civics vocabulary and topics necessary for successfully passing the US naturalization exam. All 100 exam questions are covered and emphasis is put on interview practice, as well as helpful test taking strategies.
