Stand Against Racism

Join YWCA Tulsa and thousands of others for the Stand Against Racism Thursday, April 28 - Sunday, May 1, 2016!

Stand Against Racism is a YWCA signature campaign to build community among Tulsans to advance racial justice. A collaboration of YWCAs across the country, Stand Against Racism brings people and organizations together to raise awareness that we can eliminate racism together. Over 250,000 people will take a Stand Against Racism in 2016. We are on a mission to eliminate racism, and we need you to do it -- join the movement!

Become a Participating Site

Stand Against Racism is a "program in a box" designed to help companies, nonprofits, schools, places of worship, and other community groups host a Stand event for their constituents. YWCA provides all the materials and inspiration you need for your Stand, which can be private or open to the public. For ideas, visit our Inspiration page

Becoming a Participating Site is easy: once you register at StandAgainstRacism.org, you'll get access to all the resources you need, plus a toolkit with program supplies. YWCA Tulsa is available to help you plan your event, which can be as short as 15 minutes and as long as a day, open to the public or only for your group.

Hear Our Voices: YWCA Tulsa's Stand

YWCA hosts "Hear Our Voices," an evening of creative performance in honor of the 2016 Stand Against Racism. We are seeking poets, storytellers, musicians, comedians, and other artists to perform at the event. Hosted in Tulsa's historic Greenwood District, on Reconciliation Way, we'll shed light on subjects rarely discussed in public settings, creating space and giving permission for people who have often been silenced to tell their own stories.

Thursday, April 28, 2016. 6:30pm - 8:30pm
Living Arts of Tulsa
307 East M.B. Brady Street (map)

This event is free and open to the public.
